Michael was diagnosed with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy on the day he was born in 1982. At the age of 11 months it was comfirmed that he was also profoundly deaf. In later years he developed scoliosis which caused his spine to curve significantly. Despite all this Mike enjoyed his life and by the time he died at the age of 21 he could drive his own adapted car and had just moved into a flat on his own. It is ten years this year, 2014 since Mike died and I, his mum, am keen to use this anniversary to raise money for the Cardiomyopathy Association CMA. The proceeds of my 2014 fundraising will go to CMA in Mike’s name.
